Samapti, a Materials Scientist, is currently immersed in groundbreaking research focused on advancing biohybrid materials. Her research primarily involves the bio-fabrication of hydrogels embedded with cues that promote coral settlement, for the purpose of artificial reef engineering.
Prior to her current role, she served as a Senior Analytical Scientist at Rinati Skin LLC, a state-of-the-art biotechnology company. Additionally, she worked as a Lady Davis Postdoctoral Researcher within the Civil & Environmental Engineering department at Technion-IIT, Israel, where her research efforts were directed towards developing a modified organo-clay-polymer composite system designed to adsorb and degrade stubborn environmental pollutants, particularly perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), from both soil and water sources. Samapti's academic journey includes earning her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Physics, with a specialization in Materials Science, from The University of Burdwan in India. Throughout her doctoral studies, she successfully fabricated a variety of innovative nanomaterials and polymer composites, applying them in the fields of photocatalysis and lithium-ion battery technology. In her leisure time, Samapti takes pleasure in activities such as cooking, hiking, photography, and embarking on adventures to explore new places.
